Η κοπή με laser αποτελεί μια ευρέως διαδεδομένη μέθοδο κοπής ενός σχεδίου σε συγκεκριμένο υλικό χρησιμοποιώντας CNC ή G-Code μέσω ενός αρχείου CAD που κατευθύνει την παραγόμενη ακτίνα laser. Υπάρχουν τρεις βασικοί τύποι laser που χρησιμοποιούνται στη βιομηχανία: CO2 lasers, Nd and Nd-YAG. Στο decode χρησιμοποιούμε CO2 Glass Laser machine. Στο laser cutter μας μπορείτε να κόψετε ή να χαράξετε μια μεγάλη ποικιλία υλικών με ακριβή λεπτομέρεια. Το μηχάνημα CO2 laser δε μπορεί να κόψει μέταλλα και σκληρά υλικά, μπορεί όμως να τα χαράξει-μαρκάρει.

Laser cutting is a widely used method of cutting a design from a certain material by employing CNC or G-Code via a CAD file to direct the laser beam generated. There are three main types of lasers used in the industry: CO2 lasers Nd and Nd-YAG. At decode we use a CO2 Glass Laser machine. This involves firing a laser which cuts by melting, burning or vaporizing the material. You can achieve a really fine level of cutting detail on with a wide variety of materials. Bare in mind that CO2 lasers can’t cut metals and hard materials, they can however engrave them.

1. Προετοιμασία αρχείου

Στείλτε μας το σχέδιο σας για να διαπιστώσουμε αν είναι κατάλληλο για το laser cutter που διαθέτουμε και το υλικό που θέλετε να χρησιμοποιήσετε. Οι γραμμές του σχεδίου σας πρέπει να είναι σε κόκκινο χρώμα σε περιπτώση κοπής και σε μπλε χρώμα σε περίπτωση χάραξης, ρυθμισμένες ως “hairline thickness”.

Το βάθος της χάραξης μπορεί να διαφέρει ανάλογα με το υλικό και την προτιμησή σας. Υπάρχουν δύο επιλογές χάραξης ενός υλικού, η διαδικασία vector engraving κατά την οποία το laser ακολουθεί τις γραμμές του σχεδίου χαράσσοντας το υλικό και η διαδικασία raster engraving. Με αυτή τη μέθοδο το laser χαράσσει επιφάνειες.

1. Prepare your pattern

You send us your pattern or drawing in order to check it and see if it’s appropriate according to our laser cutter and the material you intend to use. The laser cutter reads vector lines that need to be set on ‘hairline thickness’ and in red color or in blue color to denote “engrave” and not “cut”.

The debth of engraving can vary, depending on the material, and you can tell us if you want to barely mark the surface or engrave almost entirely through.

2. Ρυθμίσεις

Στείλτε μας το σχέδιο σας στο info@decodefablab.com για να υπολογίσουμε το χρόνο και το κόστος της κοπής. Σύμφωνα με το υλικό της επιλογής σας ρυθμίζουμε το μηχάνημα κοπής laser για την καλύτερη απόδοση. Η επιφάνεια κοπής του μηχανήματος που διαθέτουμε είναι 960x600mm.

Η διαδικασία χάραξης μπορεί να εκτελείται παράλληλα με την κοπή αν έχετε διαχωρίσει τις γραμμές του σχεδίου σας με κόκκινο χρώμα για την κοπή και μπλε για τη χάραξη.

2. We configure the laser settings

Send us your file at info@decodefablab.com in order to estimate duration and cost of cutting. According to the material of your choice we configure the laser cutter to the appropriate cutting power, speed and frequency settings. The maximum sheet size in bed we can cut is 960x600mm , while for bigger material sizes out laser cutting machine has pass-through mode which can accommodate 960 x infinite length.

Vector engraving can be processed simultanuesly with a cutting job, provided you denote via red and blue colors the difference in your pattern.

3. Διαδικασία κοπής και χάραξης

Στη συνέχεια το μηχάνημα εντοπίζει τις γραμμές σας και κόβει ή χαράσσει το υλικό σύμφωνα με αυτές.

Σε ορισμένα υλικά, για να προστατευτεί η επιφάνεια τους από πιθανά σημάδια καύσης, χρησιμοποιούμε προστατευτική μεμβράνη, η οποία μπορεί εύκολα να αφαιρεθεί μετά τη διασικασία κοπής.

3. We process your job

The machine then traces the paths of your drawing lines to cut out the patterns you have drawn.

Depending on the material, we might need to use a protective membrane that can be removed once the cutting is over, in order to protect the material surface from any burn marks.
